Vice President Leni Robredo has called out Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) deputy executive Mocha Uson once again for “spreading fake news.”

KAMI learned that Robredo denied the comment of Uson about her office’s relief efforts for the victims of the Taal Volcano eruption.

In a report by the ABS-CBN News (authored by Adrian Ayalin), Uson claimed that Robredo only offered to help the victims to have her photos taken.

The post also mentioned that Robredo only donated 5 pieces of pandesal and bottled water to the victims.

“Hindi nakapagtataka na galit na ang mga tao sa mga istilong bulok na ganito. Hindi din kasi ito ang unang pagkakataong inuna ni Leni ang pagpapa photo ops kaysa sa pagtulong sa mga biktima ng trahedya,” Uson said.

However, Robredo has set the records straight and explained that her relief packs contained rice, instant noodles, canned goods, dust mask, and bottled water.

“Maging mapanuri sa mga nakikita at nababasa sa social media—lalo na mula sa mga nananamantala sa mga trahedya upang magpakalat ng fake news,” it read on her Facebook post.

Meanwhile, in an interview, Robredo questioned the people as to why Uson was allowed to work in the government given that she allegedly spreads “fake news.”

"Bakit natin hinahayaan na iyong nagpakakalat ng fake news ay sinuswelduhan pa ng pamahalaan?" Robredo said.
