A man died after he slipped and fell off the edge of the Grand Canyon.

ABC News reported that the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said the accident happened at Guano Point on the canyon’s west rim, inside the Hualapai Reservation.

The spot is known for its wide and scenic view of the Grand Canyon. Authorities responded to a recovery call from the Hualapai Nation on Thursday afternoon.

A search-and-rescue team later found the 65-year-old about 130 feet down the canyon, lying on a pile of rocks.

His body was brought to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Hualapai Nation Police, Hualapai Nation Fire, and Grand Canyon West security helped with the recovery.

The Grand Canyon Resort Corporation, which oversees Grand Canyon West, said it is deeply saddened by the tragic loss and added that the Grand Canyon exists to share the beauty of the land while keeping visitors safe.

They also said they are focused on helping those affected by the incident.

The Grand Canyon is a huge natural landmark in northern Arizona.

It was formed over millions of years as the Colorado River cut through layers of rock.

The area is known for its deep valleys, colorful cliffs, and wide views.

Many people visit it each year to see its beauty, hike its trails, and learn about its history and geology.
