Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika, spoke during his memorial in Glendale, Arizona.

She said her late husband wanted to save young men, even the one who ended his life. She shared how Christ forgave on the cross and said she is choosing to do the same.

Erika told the crowd that she forgives the shooter. She explained that forgiveness was what Christ showed and what Charlie himself would have done.

She reminded people that the answer to hate is never hate, but love. Love for enemies and love for those who cause pain, she said.

Charlie's memorial was held at State Farm Stadium on September 21. The conservative activist, known for being an ally of former US President Donald Trump, was killed on September 10. He was only 31.

Police identified the suspect as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson. He allegedly fired the fatal shot from a rooftop at Utah Valley University in Orem.

Reports said that in leaked messages, Robinson admitted to his roommate and partner that he killed Kirk because he had enough of his so-called hatred.

Prosecutors are now pushing for the death penalty in Robinson’s case. Erika, however, made clear that she chooses forgiveness over anger, honoring her husband’s life and faith.
