A 34-year-old Canadian man regained his sight after being blind for more than two decades. He underwent a rare and complex procedure called tooth-in-eye surgery.
He lost his vision at the age of 12 due to a severe allergic reaction to ibuprofen.
This caused a condition known as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, which damaged his corneas and led to complete blindness.
Doctors considered him a candidate for the tooth-in-eye surgery, a procedure developed in the 1960s and performed on only a few hundred patients worldwide.
