His wife, Shay Wright, shared the heartbreaking news through a video Tanner had pre-recorded before his passing. The video was uploaded to their shared Instagram page, @tannerandshay, where the couple had chronicled many aspects of their life and Tanner's fight with cancer.

"Hey, it's me, Tanner. If you're watching this, I am dead," the late social media star said with casual honesty, setting the tone for what would become a deeply touching and widely shared message.
