Eleven people were confirmed dead and dozens of others were injured after the tragic incident in Vancouver, Canada.

An SUV rammed into a street crowd during the celebration of the Lapu-Lapu Day Block Party.

Earlier, Vancouver Police confirmed the incident, which happened around 8:00 PM during a street festival at E. 41st Avenue and Fraser.

The SUV driver, a 30-year-old man, was chased by the crowd until he was arrested by police authorities.

In a report by Bea Pinlac of GMA 7's 'Unang Balita' and as confirmed by Vancouver Police, the suspect allegedly has health issues.

Authorities are still investigating whether the suspect purposedly committed the crime or if it was purely an accident.

They added that the incident wasn't an act of terrorism.

"I would like to offer my deepest condolences and my wishes for strength and compassion in this tragic time. I know that I join all Canadians in mourning with you. I know the Canadians are united with you," said Canada's Prime Minister, Mark Carney.

"The Filipino people stand together in mourning, in prayer, and in unwavering support," said President Bongbong Marcos. "We have given specific instructions to our diplomats and staff in Vancouver to extend assistance to the victims and coordinate with Canadian authorities properly. I encourage everyone concerned to keep calm but remain vigilant."

"The Department and the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver stand ready to extend the appropriate assistance to the bereaved families and will cooperate with Canadian authorities to ensure that adequate support will be provided to our Filipino community," the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
