American actor Val Kilmer has passed away on Tuesday, April 1 in Los Angeles, California. He was 65 years old.

According to a report by The New York Times, the heartbreaking news was confirmed by his daughter, Mercedes Kilmer.
Mercedes said her dad succumbed to pneumonia. She further shared that the actor was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014 and later recovered.

Val was best known for portraying Batman, whose secret identity is Bruce Wayne, in the 1995 blockbuster film "Batman Forever."
He also portrayed rock star Jim Morisson, The Doors’ frontman, in the 1991 biopic “The Doors.” Val’s other movies include “Top Secret,” “True Romance,” “The Saint,” and “The Snowman.”
He likewise starred with Tom Cruise in the first “Top Gun” film released in 1986. They reunited in the 2022 sequel “Top Gun: Maverick,” which was Val’s last film appearance before his passing.
