A truck loaded with over a dozen live cows overturned and slid before catching fire on an expressway in Hebi, China.

The crash happened after a car suddenly switched lanes when it missed the expressway exit, according to authorities.

Footage shared on GMA Integrated Newsfeed showed how the truck tried to avoid the swerving car.

The heavy load of cows caused the vehicle to lose balance, tip over, and skid until it burst into flames. Despite the fire, the blaze did not spread and later died out on its own.

The cows inside managed to escape one after another, surprising bystanders who witnessed them climb out of the wrecked truck.

Fortunately, the truck driver survived without injuries since he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Police confirmed that the driver of the car is now held responsible for reckless lane maneuvering.

Authorities reminded motorists that sudden swerving on highways poses danger not only to themselves but also to other vehicles sharing the road.

The incident quickly spread online as clips of cows escaping the truck caught the attention of netizens.

Many expressed relief that both the animals and the driver survived the crash. Investigations are ongoing, while the car driver is expected to face legal consequences for causing the accident.
