A quarry is an open-pit location where materials like rocks, stones, sand, gravel, or minerals are taken from the earth. It is widely used to gather construction materials such as limestone, granite, and marble. Quarrying refers to the process of extracting these natural resources for building roads, homes, and other infrastructure. Quarries exist in various parts of the world and usually require the use of heavy machinery and equipment. Although they play a key role in development and construction, quarries can also cause environmental issues if not handled responsibly.
