As reported by GMA News Online, the tragedy claimed the lives of at least 10 individuals and left 6 others injured.
Captured on camera, a massive section of rock suddenly gave way and buried the victims alive.
Rescue and retrieval operations are ongoing, with the use of excavators and other heavy equipment on site.
As of this writing, as reported by The Star on their YouTube channel, dozens of other victims are estimated to be still missing.
The country's national disaster management agency reported that even heavy machinery like three excavators were also buried under the rubles and rocks from the rockslide incident.
Meanwhile, Dedi Mulyadi, West Java's Governor said that the site "does not meet safety standards for workers."
A quarry is an open-pit site where materials such as rocks, stones, sand, gravel, or minerals are extracted from the ground. It is commonly used for obtaining construction materials like limestone, granite, and marble. Quarrying is the process of removing these natural resources for use in building roads, houses, and other structures. Quarries can be found in different parts of the world and often involve the use of heavy equipment and machinery. While quarries are essential for development and infrastructure, they can also have environmental impacts if not managed properly.

In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.
In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
