A Filipino has reportedly been executed in Saudi Arabia recently for the crime of murder.

In a report by GMA News, it stated that the said Filipino allegedly killed a Saudi Arabian national and apparently it seems to have something to do with monetary reasons.

In the same report, it quoted the Department of Foreign Affairs or the DFA as saying they haven’t received any confirmation yet from Saudi Arabian authorities, though the department also said it has already received word from the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh confirming the execution.

The GMA News report also quoted the DFA as saying that the Philippine government did everything it could, including appeal to Saudi authorities and offer blood money, to no avail.

Meanwhile, the family of the executed Filipino asked for privacy and also requested Philippine authorities not to divulge the identity of their kin.

Meanwhile back in the Philippines, a 23-year-old fisherman died after a fish entered his throat. Based on the report of State of the Nation of GMA News, he was trying to bite off the head of the fish. However, the fish allegedly tried to escape and slid down his throat, which blocked his airways. The report also noted that the fisherman's throat swelled.
