In a report by People, Tommy Moorehead III, a 41-year-old man from Leonard, and his two children – who were later identified by a family friend as his six-year-old daughter, Lynnlee, and his four-year-old son, Tommy Jr. – were pronounced dead at the scene. This was after a three-vehicle crash in Van Alstyne on May 17 caused the father’s Chevrolet Silverado to catch fire.

According to CBS News, the Texas Department of Public Safety stated that the collision happened in South Grayson County, just north of Anna, at around 12:30 PM. Authorities said Rocky Patterson, 63, was driving a Dodge Ram 3500 and allegedly attempted to pass a truck while driving uphill in a no-passing zone on FM 3133.

As per Fox 4, the truck was a Toyota Tacoma. The driver, Dennis Pringle, 74, also sustained injuries and was reportedly treated at the scene.

Following the deadly scene, Tommy’s widow, Brooke Mustard Moorehead, is facing an “unimaginable tragedy” now that her “entire family” is gone, a friend named Carmen Hall noted in a GoFundMe page to support funeral costs.

“In a single instant, Brooke lost everything. Tommy was a devoted husband and father, a kind soul who worked hard and loved his family with his whole heart. Lynnlee was full of life, joy, and curiosity. Little Tommy Jr. was just beginning his journey in the world, always smiling and full of love,” Hall wrote on the page.
