Filipino-American comedian Jo Koy is among those saddened by the deadly car-ramming incident in Canada.

It is worth noting that several people have been killed and multiple others were injured after a vehicle drove into a crowd at the Filipino community’s annual Lapu Lapu Day Festival in Vancouver. The bloody incident happened 8:00 PM on Saturday during the festival at E. 41st Avenue and Fraser, according to Vancouver Police.
Following the tragedy, Jo Koy took to social media to release a statement sharing his reaction to the bloody incident.

“I am heartbroken to hear what took place at The Vancouver Filipino Festival,” he expressed.
“This is supposed to be an event that honors and celebrates our beautiful culture, and now we're mourning the loss of 11 lives that were taken too soon,” the prominent comedian lamented.
Furthermore, Jo Koy sent with deepest sympathy to those affected.
“My heart goes out to everyone that was affected by this horrific event. Mahal Kita.”

Through the official statement, PBBM expressed being “completely shattered” upon hearing the news of the horrific event that marred what was intended to be a joyous celebration of Filipino heritage. At the moment, the Philippine Consulate General is working with Canadian authorities and at the same time, extending aid for the victims and their families.
