British boxer Ricky Hatton, a former world champion, has died at the age of 46, the BBC reported on Sunday.
Police in Greater Manchester said a body was found that morning at an address in Hyde. Authorities confirmed that the death was not being treated as suspicious.
Hatton built a remarkable career with 45 wins in 48 fights. He held world titles at light-welterweight and welterweight, cementing his place as one of Britain’s top boxers.
His career highlight came in 2005 when he defeated Australian fighter Kostya Tszyu to win the IBF light-welterweight title, adding it to the WBU belt he already held.

He enjoyed an undefeated streak of 43 wins until his first professional loss against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas in 2007.
That defeat marked a turning point, and he was never quite the same fighter again. Hatton eventually retired in 2012, though he was scheduled to make a comeback in Dubai later this year.
Outside the ring, Hatton spoke openly about his battles with depression, heavy drinking, and drug use.
In a 2016 interview with BBC radio, he admitted that he had attempted suicide multiple times and described his struggles as being like a runaway train.
Fans and fellow athletes around the world remember him not only for his achievements in boxing but also for his honesty about mental health challenges.
His death marks a sad loss in the world of sports, especially for British boxing where he was once a national hero.
