Donaire loses to Inoue but earns respect of Japanese people with his effort

Nonito Donaire Jr., The Filipino Flash, lost via a unanimous decision to Japanese boxer Naoya Inoue, known as The Monster, in their boxing match held in Japan.
KAMI learned that Donaire, 36, gave Inoue, 26, a tough and competitive fight despite his age.
The scores from the judges were 116-111, 117-109, and 114-113, all in favor of the Japanese.
Donaire was a huge underdog coming into the fight with Inoue, who is ranked number four in The Ring pound-for-pound ranking.
However, he proved that he should not have been underestimated as he was almost able to knock out the Japanese in the 10th round, and then the latter recovered and got his footing back.
In the 11th round, Donaire was almost knocked out by Inoue but the Filipino fighter held on and was able to survive the round and finish the fight on his feet.

Nonito Donaire Jr. is a Filipino-American boxer known as The Filipino Flash. He has held world titles in four weight divisions and is considered as one of the greatest Filipino boxers in history, having defeated elite fighters such as Vic Darchinyan and Fernando Montiel.
