Triathlete and vlogger Aira Lopez, girlfriend of Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste, took to social media to address accusations circulating online about her performance at the My Daily Collagen Triathlon held in Subic last weekend.

In a lengthy statement, Aira explained that she initially did not want to speak publicly about the issue. However, she decided to clarify the matter after the claims continued spreading online despite the race organizers already conducting their own review.
“I’d like to take this moment to speak up and clarify the accusations surrounding my recent race at the My Daily Collagen Triathlon in Subic last weekend,” she wrote.
According to Aira, she trained diligently for the race and stood by the integrity of her performance.

“I trained hard, put in the effort, and gave my best to perform well. As many athletes know, hindi naman po nafa-fake ang Strava,” she said.
One of the accusations raised online claimed that she had drafted with a pacer who was not an official participant in the race. Aira rejected this claim, explaining that race organizers strictly control access to the course.
“As a triathlete yourself, you should know that anyone without a bib number is not allowed and cannot even enter the race course. There are cones, marshals, and race officials monitoring the entire route,” she said.
She added that in crowded races, athletes can naturally end up riding or running close to each other because of the number of participants and the limited space on the route.
Another claim suggested she received outside help during the race by accepting water or ice. Aira explained that such scenarios are not unusual in endurance events, especially when local residents offer assistance to athletes along the route.
“This actually happens in many races—even in Ironman events. During the run in places like Cebu or Davao, we sometimes pass local homes where residents kindly offer athletes water or ice,” she wrote.
Aira also expressed disappointment that the allegations were posted publicly instead of being discussed privately.
“As a fellow woman in the sport, I expected a little more understanding and support before making public assumptions. If you had questions, you could have simply messaged me or asked the organizers directly,” she said.
Despite the controversy, Aira reaffirmed her commitment to the sport and her integrity as an athlete.
“Triathlon is my passion. It’s something I deeply respect, and I would never do anything that would compromise my integrity as a person and as an athlete,” she added.
Mark Leviste and Aira Lopez have reportedly been in a strong relationship since they publicly confirmed their romance in early 2025. Leviste previously dated actress and television host Kris Aquino. Lopez, who is known as a triathlete and vlogger, has shared in the past that she admired Aquino even before becoming involved with Leviste. Even after his breakup with Kris, Leviste has remained supportive of the actress during her ongoing health struggles.
