Leyte 4th District Rep. Richard Gomez and Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez’s daughter, Juliana Gomez, won a fencing gold medal anew at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).

Juliana, who represented the University of the Philippines, was able to defend her title as the women's individual epee champion.

Following the news, Richard took to social media and showed how proud he is of his child.

On his Instagram account, the actor-politician shared a photo of Juliana captured during the competition held at the University of Sto. Thomas Quadricentennial Pavillion.

In the caption, the celebrity dad ecstatically congratulated Juliana for her back-to-back win.

Richard Frank Icasiano Gomez, or simply Richard Gomez, is one of the most popular Filipino actors of his generation. He is also a director, television presenter, athlete, and politician. Richard was working as a crew at McDonald’s when the late Douglas Quijano discovered him. In 1998, he wed actress and heiress Lucy Marie Martinez Torres. They have one daughter named Juliana.

As per the post of Gretchen, an opportunity to spar is a way for Juliana to learn from her father. Gretchen revealed that Richard is tough whenever he watches matches of Juliana.
