- Yap then went on to express his gratitude his “brother” and friend, Pingris

James Yap has recently taken to social media to pay tribute to one of his best teammates, Marc Pingris.

This, after Pingris announced his retirement from the Philippine Basketball Association at the age of 39.

According to the two-time MVP, he was actually shocked upon learning that the veteran forward has decided to conclude his journey as a PBA player.

Yap likewise thanked Pingris for their brotherhood and friendship which will last even after their basketball career.

Yap and Pingris played together at Welcoat in the Philippine Basketball League before they became part of PBA Rookie Draft Class in 2004 and became the 2nd and 3rd selections by Purefoods and FedEx, respectively.

One of the highlights of the two basketball stars' career happened in 2014, when they delivered championships to San Mig Coffee and bagged the rare grand slam with Coach Tim Cone.

Marc Pingris was a professional basketball player who played for the Magnolia Hotshots of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) before his retirement. He is also married to Danica Sotto, the daughter of Vic Sotto and Dina Bonnevie.

Recently, his wife penned a touching message to him after his retirement announcement. Danica said she will definitely miss watching her husband play but she's also excited for what lies ahead after his PBA career.

Earlier, KAMI learned that Marc Pingris uploaded a video of himself dancing with their house helper amid the lockdown. In the video, Marc could be seen having fun as he and their house helper danced along to Joy's song, Touch by Touch.
