Based on initial information, Cabral was traveling from Baguio City to La Union province on the day of the incident. Reports said that at around 3 p.m., she asked her driver to leave her alone at Purok Maramal, Sitio Camp 5. When the driver returned at around 5 p.m., he could no longer find her, prompting concern and later a search that led to the discovery of her body hours later.

As news of her death spread, netizens began recalling a previous interview Cabral gave in 2018 to D+C Design and Construction Magazine. In that interview, she was asked about her biggest phobia, to which she answered, “Oh… Heights?” This resurfaced statement has raised questions online, especially given the nature of her reported fall.

Adding to the discussion was the account of Cabral’s driver, Cardo Hernandez. In an interview, he reportedly said that he warned the former undersecretary not to go near or sit on a stone by the roadside because it was slippery. This detail further fueled speculation on social media, with many calling for a thorough and transparent investigation.
