Sen. Robin Padilla, a Duterte ally, is among those who are celebrating the 80th birthday of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte today, March 28.

On his Facebook account, the senator shared a series of posts about the former leader’s special day.
His posts include a couple of videos showing glimpses of his celebration of the special day.
“Ang paghahanda ng aming tahanan para sa pagdiriwang ng Kaarawan ni Tatay digong. Pancit, lumpiang shanghai at coke zero,” Padilla wrote in one of his posts.

The actor-turned-politician also wrote a lengthy post where he reflected on Duterte turning 80 while being detained.

“Ngunit hangga't nakikita at nahawakan natin ang simbolo ng ating hindi natitinag na katapatan sa Pinakamahusay na Pangulo ng Pilipinas, pinanghahawakan natin ang pag-asa na balang araw, muli tayong makakasama ng ating Mahal na Boss.”
Padilla went on to share, “Habang isinusulat ko ito, naglagay ng mga barikada malapit sa ICC Detention Center, naghahanda para sa pagtitipon upang bisitahin at batiin si Tatay Digong.”
“Malinaw na ngayon sa Pamahalaang Dutch kung gaano kalalim ang pagmamahal ng lalaking ito sa kanyang mga kababayan,” he claimed.
Padilla concluded his post by leaving a heartfelt message for Duterte, whom he affectionately calls “Tatay Digong.”
“Hanggang sa muli nating pagkikita, Sir. Kami ay palaging narito, ang iyong mga sidekicks at extended na pamilya, magpakailanman tapat at mapagmahal.”
Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines. He left Malacañang on June 30, 2022. The newly inaugurated President of the Philippines is Bongbong Marcos who got 31 million votes in the May 2022 elections. The new Vice President of the Philippines is VP Sara Duterte, the daughter of the former president.
Earlier, Sen. Imee Marcos had a statement on former President Rodrigo Duterte turning 80 on Friday, March 28. In a press conference on Thursday, March 27, the lady senator expressed her birthday wish for the former leader.

The actor-turned-politician posted about the accident on Facebook on Friday evening, Philippine time. In his post, Padilla shared some details about the minor accident. It is worth noting that Padilla flew to the Netherlands following the arrest of FPRRD.
