Duterte has arrived at the International Criminal Court (ICC) Detention Center in Scheveningen, The Hague, Netherlands, early Thursday morning. Duterte's chartered flight, RP-C5219, landed at Rotterdam-The Hague Airport at 4:56 p.m. CET (11:56 p.m. Philippine time).
The 79-year-old former leader, who governed from 2016 to 2022, was apprehended in Manila on Tuesday, marking a significant development in the ICC’s investigation into alleged crimes against humanity during his administration’s anti-drug campaign.
The ICC arrest warrant accuses Duterte of establishing, financing, and arming death squads responsible for executing suspected drug offenders.
In the coming days, Duterte is expected to appear before a judge, where the allegations will be formally presented in court.
