Sen. Jinggoy Estrada has been accused of bullying by Pia Gil, a San Juan City Hall employee, as she recounted their tense encounter.

Pia, who was serving as an officer under the Office of The Mayor, was the woman who confronted the senator in the now-viral video.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the city hall employee said, "Kahit saan mo tignan, bastos yung ginawa niya sakin, bully eh."

According to Pia, "Basta nakatalikod ako then sumigaw siya sakin ng 'Hoy, Pia Gil!' gumanun siya ng talagang sigaw, todo. So ako tinignan ko lang siya pero naglakad ako pa rin palayo kasi ayaw ko ng encounter with him, kasi nga alam ko bully siya."

Pia claimed that Jinggoy accused her of blocking his staff from entering the evacuation center.

"Inaakusahan niya ako na kesyo hinaharang ko siya hinaharang ko raw mga tao niya. Unang-una I was never inside the evacuation center hindi yun trabaho ko, trabaho ng CSWD yun," she explained.

Gil further explained that Jinggoy was asking for data about the fire victims, but the social worker could not provide it due to the Data Privacy Act.

In a report done by Inquirer, the senator finally released a statement about the viral video online.

"Opo, ako po ay Senador at ginagamit ko ang posisyong ito para makatulong lalong lalo na sa mga taga-San Juan na kinalakihan ko at hindi ko hahayaan na mapigilan ako na makiramay sa mga nangangailangan sa panahong kailangang-kailangan nila ng tulong," Jinggoy said in his statement, as per PEP's report.

Jose Pimentel Ejercito Jr, more popularly known as Jinggoy Estrada, is a politician, actor, and producer. He served as Vice Mayor of San Juan in 1988 and is currently serving as a senator in the 19th Congress of the Philippines. He is the son of former President Joseph “Erap” Ejercito Estrada.

As previously reported by KAMI, Jinggoy Estrada was found by the Sandiganbayan “not guilty” of plunder charges against him but “guilty” of one count of “bribery” and two counts of “indirect bribery” in connection with the PDAF scam. The special court, which has jurisdiction over criminal and civil cases against public officers and employees, sentenced Sen. Jinggoy to eight to nine years in prison for “direct bribery” and two to three years for “indirect bribery.”

Meanwhile, Sen. Jinggoy Estrada caught the attention of Pokwang when the legislator voiced out his thoughts about banning K-Dramas in the Philippines. In a post, the Kapuso star shared that she appreciates the senator’s desire for local artists to succeed. Nonetheless, she does not believe that banning Korean dramas in the country will resolve the issue.
