Robin Padilla, umalma sa pag-tag ng “Muslims” sa nang-hostage kay De Lima

- Senator Robin Padilla cried foul after some policemen supposedly tagged the three hostage-takers in Camp Crame yesterday as “Muslims”

- The actor-turned-politician stated that it is unfair to describe the attackers as “Muslims”

- Padilla argued that other criminals do not get tagged as “Christians” when they commit crimes

- Furthermore, he wants PNP Chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. to educate his men about this sensitive matter

Senator Robin Padilla called out the policemen who supposedly tagged the three hostage-takers in Camp Crame, Quezon City as “Muslims.”

Two of the hostage-takers were shot by policemen while another took former Senator Leila De Lima hostage yesterday, October 9, before getting shot himself. One cop was wounded during the deadly encounter.

According to Padilla, it was unfair to describe the attackers as “Muslims” since other criminals do not get tagged as “Christians” when they commit crimes.

The senator added that the attack was not motivated by their religious beliefs.

For these reasons, Padilla wants PNP Chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr. to educate his men about this sensitive matter.

“Ako ay nananawagan sa Philippine National Police na magkaroon ng edukasyon sa paggamit ng salitang muslim. Discrimation po ito kapag binibigkas ng pulis na ito ang salitang muslim

“Maging parehas po tayo ng trato sa bawat Pilipino. Kapag May kidnapper o holdupper o pumatay ng Tao hindi man niyo sinasabi na kristiano ito.

“Hindi po ginagamit ang salitang muslim sa pag identify ng isang Tao. Lalot May kinalaman sa krimen o terrorismo. May pangalan po ang mga taong ito.

“Mainam po na identify niyo po sila hindi sa kanyang religion dahil walang kinalaman ang religion po dito.

“Ang batas ay hinubog sa anyo ng hustisya at pinapatupad ito ng alagad ng batas. Kung ang alagad ng batas ay humusga ng bansag sa isang religion, para saan pa po ang babaeng nakapiring ang mga mata at may hawak na timbangan?

“Sir PNP chief police General Rodolfo S Azurin Jr sir Educate your policeman sir. Ipinagpapanalangin po ng mga MUSLIM ang kagyat na pagbuti ng kalagayan ng nasugatan na bayaning pulis at ganon din po ang katahimikan ng loob at ang patuloy na kaligtasan ng dating senador na Leila de Lima,” Padilla wrote.

Robin Padilla is a famous action star and endorser in the Philippines. He is married to actress-host Mariel Padilla. The actor has two children with Mariel – Isabella and Gabriela. He is also the father of actress Kylie Padilla, the wife of Aljur Abrenica. Robin ran for senator in the 2022 Elections. He won the race and was number one in the amount of votes received among all candidates.
