According to Aiko, she approached Nanay Dolores after her staff saw the old lady begging while sitting on the pavement.

Aside from speaking with Nanay Dolores, Aiko helped her by giving her food packs.

She will also send to her address a television set because she does not have one. According to Aiko, Nanay Dolores goes to her neighbor’s house just to be able to watch television.

The actress is running for councilor in Quezon City's 5th district in the 2022 Election.

“Nakita ng staff ko kanina si nanay naka upo namamalimos. Siya si Nanay Dolores. Inabutan sya ng food packs ng staff ko
“At nakikinuod ng TV sa kapitbahay ng show namen. So regalo ko syo nanay at alam ko na address mo simpleng tv. Sana masiyahan ka at di na kailangan makinuod sa kapitbahay. Ingat Nanay Dolores,” Aiko wrote on Instagram.

Aiko Melendez is a well-known showbiz personality. She received the Best Supporting Actress award in 2018 for her role in the film "Rainbow's Sunset." Aiko ran for and won a seat on the Quezon City Council in 2001. She served for 9 years, until 2010.

The veteran actress believes that people with diverse political beliefs should be respected. Ultimately, she prayed to God for the country's healing and for love to prevail among its people.
