A 77-year-old student from Cagayan has captured the attention of netizens after a TikTok video showing him attending classes went viral. Lolo Mario Ressureccion, a Grade 12 student at Sampaguita National High School in Sampaguita, Solana, continues to pursue his education despite his age, earning admiration online, GMA News reported.

Currently enrolled in the Agri-Fishery Arts strand under the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood track, Lolo Mario is determined to deepen his knowledge in agriculture. According to his grandson, the elderly learner dreams of completing a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Engineering in the future. His goal reflects his belief in the importance of agriculture to the country.
In a written response shared during an interview, Lolo Mario explained his motivation for returning to school.
"I have my personal intuition that tilling the soil technically is a patrimony for me to eliminate the frugality of my life," he said.

Meanwhile, YouScooper James, a practice teacher deployed at the school, shared how Lolo Mario left a strong impression on them.
"He is not my student, but we interns would often talk to him because he was usually in the library where our room was located, and he would sometimes ask us questions," he recalled.
James also explained why he decided to record the now-viral clip.
"I noticed him quite often, and I took a video of him last year because it was my first time seeing a student as old as him in person," he said.
"I felt that his story was worth sharing online."
Lolo Mario’s dedication has since inspired many, proving that learning has no age limit and that determination can continue well into one’s later years. His story has sparked conversations online about the value of lifelong learning and perseverance.
