The victim, who was reportedly asleep on the second floor of her family's residence, perished after being trapped inside the burning structure.
According to local authorities and family accounts, the fire erupted on March 11, 2026, while the girl's mother was attending a community meeting at the nearby barangay hall.
The victim’s grandmother was on the ground floor when she noticed smoke and flames rapidly engulfing the upper level of the house.

Despite her immediate cries for help and the courageous efforts of neighbors to reach the child, the intensity of the heat and the speed of the flames made a rescue impossible.
Witnesses described a harrowing scene as the community scrambled with buckets of water before fire crews arrived.
One neighbor recalled hearing a loud pop before seeing heavy smoke billow from the roof. The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Guimbal arrived on the scene to find the blaze already spreading to two adjacent houses.
It took nearly an hour for firefighters to completely extinguish the fire and recover the victim’s remains.
Preliminary investigations by the BFP suggest that the fire may have been caused by an overheated electric fan that had been left running.
The total damage to the three affected properties is pegged at approximately ₱2.4 million.
The local government has extended its condolences to the family, who lost not only their loved one but also all their worldly possessions in a matter of minutes.
As the community mourns, fire officials are once again reminding residents to be vigilant with electrical appliances, especially as the summer heat begins to set in.
The investigation into the exact origin of the blaze remains ongoing to confirm the initial findings.
In other news, a 53-year-old faculty member lost her life in a targeted shooting carried out by two unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in Rosales, Pangasinan. The ambush took place in Barangay Carmay East as the victim was traveling back to her residence from the neighboring town of Sta. Maria. Eyewitness accounts suggest the gunmen immediately sped away from the location following the discharge of their firearms. Local law enforcement has launched a comprehensive manhunt and is currently reviewing evidence to determine the motive behind the assault.
Still in other news, law enforcement officers in Peñaranda recovered the remains of two individuals inside a torched automobile located in a secluded rural sector. The deceased were confirmed to be a female business owner, aged 33, and her 44-year-old associate who was providing transportation services as a rescue volunteer. A major lead in the investigation points toward a failed ₱18-million property sale involving a multi-unit residential building. A tactical search is underway for specific persons of interest, with authorities treating the case as a calculated robbery resulting in murder.
