Authorities have arrested a teacher in Cavite and a mother in Leyte for alleged se*xual abuse of minors, GMA News reports.

In Cavite, the Philippine National Police’s Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) conducted a search at the home of the teacher in Indang, serving a warrant to search, seize, and examine computer data. Officials reportedly recovered electronic gadgets containing 32 indecent videos featuring the teacher and six of his junior high school students.
According to investigators, the abuse allegedly took place at the teacher’s home after classes. The victims were reportedly given P100 to P300 after each incident. The operation was launched after the videos of the teacher and his students surfaced online.

The teacher faces charges under the Anti-Online Se*xual Abuse or Exploitation of Children Act and the Anti-Child Se*xual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act, in connection with the Cybercrime Prevention Act. Attempts by GMA Integrated News to get a statement from the teacher have so far been unsuccessful.

In Abuyog, Leyte, WCPC also arrested a mother accused of se*xually abusing her three children and four relatives, all minors.
Authorities said the mother allegedly recorded the abuse and sold some videos to a Norwegian national outside the Philippines.
The suspect in Leyte has not issued a statement regarding the allegations.
Police emphasized that the cases are still under investigation as they gather more evidence. The WCPC continues to urge the public to report any instances of abuse or online se*xual exploitation of minors to ensure the protection of children across the country.
In other developments, the Bacoor Component City Police confirmed that the man seen in a viral video attempting to enter a vehicle is Joel Viola Matados, a resident of General Trias who is currently facing health challenges. Matados’ family appealed for public understanding, explaining that he had wandered from home and was disoriented during the incident. The motorist, Lorie Sy, described a tense situation in which she had to remain locked inside her car as Matados aggressively tried to manipulate the door handle while traffic flowed around them. Authorities are urging the public to report any sightings of Matados to ensure his safe return and to provide him with the necessary medical care.
