Closed-circuit television footage showed the dog approaching the gate of a house in the area moments before the incident. The man, who was identified as the caretaker of the property, then came closer to the animal and struck it several times.

A bystander who witnessed the attack initially planned to bring the injured dog to a veterinarian for treatment. However, the animal eventually died from its injuries before it could receive medical attention.

For his part, the senior citizen defended his actions and claimed he believed the dog was about to bite him. He argued that he acted first to protect himself from possible harm.

Authorities have yet to release further details regarding the status of the complaint or any potential charges that may be filed. Investigations may determine whether the suspect’s claim of self-defense is supported by available evidence, including the CCTV footage and witness testimony.

The incident has drawn attention online, with some residents and animal welfare supporters calling for stricter enforcement of laws intended to protect animals from abuse and violence.

In another incident, a widely shared video showed a Filipina being assaulted by a foreign man inside a shopping mall in Singapore, sparking concern among viewers. The Department of Migrant Workers said its labor attaché has already made contact with the victim and is providing support. “Medical assistance is the most basic there, and of course, filing of the complaint, our lawyer would stand ready to help her,” explained Secretary Hans Cacdac. Authorities are treating the matter as physical assault and are coordinating with Singaporean counterparts to ensure the woman receives proper care, legal support, and a thorough investigation toward accountability.
