The deceased, who resided in Barangay Lipay, Sta. Cruz, Zambales, had been involved in close ties that reportedly soured over time, leading investigators to consider personal and business conflicts as potential motives.

“Based doon sa motibo, inalam natin ‘yung sinong puwedeng ma-involve, ‘yung puwedeng galit sa kaniya o nakaalitan niya o anong mga reasons kung bakit siya papatayin. So, na-mention po ‘yun sa investigation natin sa mga witnesses,” said Police Colonel Benjamin Ariola, director of the Zambales Police Provincial Office.

Authorities moved quickly to identify the suspects. On February 10, police arrested one of the three individuals implicated in the killing, a 33-year-old Indian national, in Barangay Palanginan, Iba, Zambales.

“The motibo po na nakita natin diyan is ‘yung dati silang magkaibigan, nagkaroon ng alitan. After ng alitan nila, mas lalong lumala, lumala nang lumala hanggang sa nag-aaway na sila sa negosyo,” Ariola added.

The police continue to pursue the remaining two suspects. Both the victim’s family and the arrested individual have declined to provide statements. Investigators are urging anyone with information to come forward as the case progresses.

In a separate report, a viral video shows a Filipino woman being assaulted by a foreign man inside a Singapore mall, sparking widespread concern. The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) confirmed their labor attaché has contacted the victim and is providing support. “Medical assistance is the most basic there, and of course, filing of the complaint, our lawyer would stand ready to help her,” says DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac. Authorities are treating the case as physical assault and are coordinating with Singapore officials to ensure the woman receives medical care and legal support, while investigating the incident and pursuing justice.
