Emergency responders rushed the injured man to a hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.

Barangay authorities were able to apprehend the suspect shortly after the incident and turned him over to the police for proper detention and investigation.

Law enforcement officials are continuing to gather evidence and testimonies to establish the full sequence of events surrounding the killing. Authorities are also attempting to obtain a statement from the victim’s family as part of the ongoing probe.

The suspect is expected to face a murder charge in connection with the incident. Police said the case underscores how unresolved personal conflicts can quickly escalate into deadly violence when emotions and retaliation take control.

Investigators remain focused on completing documentation and ensuring that due process is observed as the legal proceedings move forward.

In a separate incident, a 29-year-old man from San Jose was arrested after allegedly splashing fuel on a responding police officer at a gas station in Amlan. Although gasoline struck his face, Police Corporal Rohenio Carbo remained calm and managed to subdue the suspect with help from his partner. Authorities later discovered that the same individual was reportedly connected to a motorcycle theft and an earlier attempted stabbing that occurred that evening. He is now facing multiple complaints, including carnapping and resisting arrest, while the injured officer is under observation and said to be in stable condition.

Meanwhile, in Baguio City, officers detained a 25-year-old construction worker following a late-night confrontation that seriously injured his 44-year-old co-worker. Investigators believe the violence may have stemmed from ongoing verbal taunts and personal ridicule allegedly directed at the younger man. The wounded worker is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital, as the suspect remains in police custody pending the filing of formal charges. Initial findings indicate the dispute began during a gathering along Magsaysay Avenue earlier that night before escalating at the residence they shared.
