Officials assured the public that the area under their supervision remains safe, orderly, and peaceful for visitors.

Earlier reports confirmed that the teenager was hospitalized due to injuries sustained during the encounter, leading to the filing of physical injury complaints against the two guards.During an online program hosted by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno titled "Talk to the People," the guards explained that the teenager had entered a restricted section of the esplanade while riding a bicycle.

They claimed the boy ignored repeated warnings, allegedly struck first, and attempted to flee before they chased and cornered him. The viral footage later showed the guards punching and kicking the minor.

Moreno stressed that any violation by the teenager should have been handled properly by contacting authorities instead of resorting to force.

“Binurin niyo 'yung iskandalong ginawa niyo eh hirap na hirap na nga kami na buhayin natin ang Maynila,'' the mayor said.
