According to Marcos, the controversial remarks were likely made back in 2019. He explained that during that time, he was going through a period of extreme frustration and high emotions. The root of his anger, he claimed, was a financial dispute where his money had reportedly not been returned for nearly a year.
“Maaaring nung 2019 may nasabi akong ganyan, maaari dahil galit ako at involve ako, isang taon kasing hindi naibalik ang pera ko,” Marcos explained during his clarification.
He was quick to add that the "People’s Champ" was not the person he was actually mad at. Marcos insisted that his words were taken out of context and that he was venting his feelings toward a specific friend involved in the money issue, rather than trying to attack the boxing icon.

“So hindi naman talaga siya ang tinitira ko, yung kaibigan ko,” he added, hoping to put the issue to rest and clear any misunderstanding between him and Pacquiao’s camp.
Marcos implied that his past self was simply caught up in a personal struggle and that his outbursts were a reaction to his own circumstances rather than a deliberate attempt to cause trouble for others.
Francis Leo Marcos, whose real name is Norman Mangusin, rose to fame on social media for his "Mayaman Challenge," where he challenged wealthy individuals to help the poor during the pandemic. However, his rise to stardom was met with various legal controversies, including questions about his true identity and past business dealings. Despite the hurdles and a period of time away from the limelight, he remains a talked-about figure in the Filipino digital space, known for his bold personality and outspoken nature.
This is not the first time Marcos has faced scrutiny over his personal life. Years ago, his supposed marriage to a Japanese beauty queen, Muya Murakami, became a hot topic after claims surfaced that the union was not legitimate. The controversy added to the mystery surrounding the internet personality's background and led to even more questions from his followers and critics alike during the height of his "Mayaman Challenge" fame.
Manny Pacquiao has also had his share of dealing with internet personalities recently. The boxing legend issued a strong warning against individuals who make degrading comments about his mother, Mommy Dionisia. Manny made it clear that while he can handle criticism against himself, he will not stay silent when his family is targeted. This protective stance shows that the Pacquiao family remains vigilant against any form of online disrespect.
