In a statement, the PNP said the interdiction took place between January 29 and 30 and was led by the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG).
The operation followed intelligence information regarding a 38-year-old woman believed to be transporting illegal dru*gs into the country. She arrived at NAIA from Sao Paulo, Brazil, with a stopover in Doha, Qatar.
During routine X-ray screening at NAIA Terminal 3, a Bureau of Customs inspector noticed an unusual image inside a green trolley bag.

This prompted a secondary inspection by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency’s K9 unit. The narcotics detection dog gave a positive reaction, indicating the possible presence of illegal substances.
Authorities then conducted a careful manual inspection of the luggage and discovered a concealed compartment. Inside were four pouches wrapped in layers of tape, plastic, carbon paper, and foil.
Field testing using a Raman spectrometer later confirmed the substance to be coca*ine, with an estimated standard dru*g price of P39,181,660.
“This interception shows the PNP’s unwavering commitment to stop illegal dru*gs at our borders,” says PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.
“We will continue to enforce the law firmly but fairly, ensuring the safety of every Filipino,” he adds.
The female passenger was immediately arrested by personnel from NAIA Police Station 3.
Authorities said all standard procedures, including the marking and inventory of the seized items, were conducted on site in the presence of media and barangay representatives.
The suspect and the confiscated dru*gs are now under the custody of the NAIA-IADITG for documentation and legal proceedings.
“Illegal dru*g traffi*cking will always be met with firm action,” Nartatez says.
In a previous report by KAMI, a family of three was brutally killed after being shot inside their own store in Barangay Mallorca, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. CCTV footage captured three men entering the shop, pulling down the roll-up door, and opening fire on the victims. Before escaping, one of the suspects was also seen taking a bag and a cellphone belonging to the family. A report by Gary De Leon of TV5 Frontline Pilipinas said the victims had reportedly been receiving threats after lending P1 million to a fellow barangay resident, who allegedly used the money to start a business.
In a separate incident that also went viral, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her husband. According to a report by EJ Gomez on Unang Balita, the 38-year-old suspect carried out the attack inside the school’s faculty room. Police said the school had a security guard on duty, but the suspect was able to enter and exit the premises without difficulty because he was a familiar figure. Authorities added that the suspect claimed he went to the school to talk to his wife and resolve their personal problems, but the discussion reportedly escalated into a heated confrontation that turned violent.
