Residents who came upon the infant said they were touched when the baby, though abandoned, appeared calm and even smiled as she was being saved. Police in Santa Barbara suspect the person who left the child may not be from the immediate community, noting that there were no recorded recent deliveries or advanced pregnancies in the village. The infant has been placed under medical care at the Western Visayas Sanitarium and is reported to be in stable condition, while the Department of Social Welfare and Development works to ensure her protection and future care.

Janica shared that her doctors themselves described the condition as highly unusual. The removed mass has been sent for biopsy, with results still awaited. As she continues her recovery after undergoing the procedure under spinal anesthesia, Janica expressed heartfelt gratitude to her supporters for their prayers and messages of encouragement.
