According to a report by DYSS Super Radyo’s Gabriel Bonjoc, the incident happened on Tuesday in Barangay Ilijan Norte.

The victims, aged 13 and 14, were reportedly hurrying to get to school as they were facing an examination and needed to pay their tuition fees.

Initial information showed that the older sibling, who was 14 years old, was driving the motorcycle at the time of the accident.

Both minors were not wearing helmets, which may have worsened the impact of the crash.

Based on the initial investigation, the motorcycle was traveling behind a tricycle when the young riders allegedly attempted to overtake it.

During the maneuver, the motorcycle veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with an oncoming delivery truck.

The force of the collision caused severe injuries to both siblings. Responding individuals rushed them to the nearest hospital for emergency treatment.

However, the 14-year-old driver was declared dead on arrival by medical personnel. The younger sibling initially survived but later died while receiving medical care.

Local authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine all contributing factors, including road conditions and the exact sequence of events leading to the crash.

The case has once again raised concerns about road safety, particularly involving minors operating motorcycles and the importance of wearing protective gear.

Officials also reminded motorists to exercise caution on the road and urged parents and guardians to ensure that children follow traffic rules to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

In other developments, authorities in Quezon City are on the lookout for an unidentified man who allegedly slipped into a SPED center in Novaliches on Tuesday morning and made off with a smartphone and a tablet. CCTV footage shows the suspect blending in with waiting guardians, lingering until he found the right moment to take devices valued at around P20,000. The stolen gadgets reportedly contained confidential school-related information. Investigators said the suspect later accessed the victim’s messaging accounts and posed as the employee, attempting to solicit money from the victim’s relatives through e-wallet services. After checking with residents in the area, village officials tagged the suspect as a “dayo,” noting that long-time locals did not recognize him.

Meanwhile, a separate incident occurred early Wednesday at the EDSA–Quezon Avenue junction, where a 26-year-old truck driver was rushed to the hospital after losing control of his vehicle. The truck rammed into several concrete barriers and traffic cones, sending debris flying across the roadway. A passing passenger bus and a private car sustained damage from the scattered concrete. Responders at the scene reported smelling alcohol on the driver, who allegedly admitted to drinking prior to driving during initial medical checks. Although authorities managed to clear the area and restore normal traffic flow before the peak morning hours, the crash renewed public calls for tougher implementation of the Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act.
