A 60-year-old motorcycle rider lost his life after a cut tree branch fell on him in San Carlos, Pangasinan, according to police authorities.

Based on a report aired on "GTV News Balitanghali" on Monday, initial investigation revealed that the victim was simply passing through the area at the time of the incident.
Police said the accident happened while someone nearby was cutting branches from a tree along the roadside.
The cut branch suddenly fell and struck the rider, causing him to lose control of his motorcycle.

Authorities said the victim fell onto the pavement and hit his head on the road. Due to the severity of the impact, the rider sustained fatal injuries and was later declared dead.
Investigators noted that the area where the incident occurred did not appear to have warning signs or safety measures in place to alert motorists about the ongoing tree-cutting activity.
This detail is now being examined as part of the case build-up.
Following the incident, police filed a complaint for reckless imprudence resulting in ho*micide against the individual who was cutting the tree branch.
Authorities said the suspect is currently being sought for a statement to clarify the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Local officials reminded the public, especially those conducting roadside maintenance or tree trimming, to take extra precautions to ensure public safety.
