Authorities are now looking for a taxi driver accused of harassing a female student in Davao City. The driver reportedly asked personal questions that turned s*xual during the ride.
According to a report by Rgil Relator on GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, the student recorded parts of the conversation while inside the taxi.
Viral posts on social media said the incident happened on January 20, 2026, while the student was on her way home from school. The driver reportedly started a conversation that became inappropriate.
He allegedly made hurtful comments about her body, asked private questions, and even made s*xual remarks with an offer attached.

Despite the ordeal, the student got home safely. She asked a security guard to help record the taxi’s plate number and the driver’s name.
Police at Talomo Police Station received a report about the incident. City Transport and Traffic Management Office has taken custody of the taxi, but authorities have not yet found the driver. He may face charges under the Safe Spaces Act and RA 7610, which protects children from abuse and exploitation.
Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-Davao (LTFRB-11) also issued a show-cause order against the driver. He must appear for a hearing on Monday, January 26, 2026.
In the Philippines, the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313) protects people from harassment in public places, workplaces, schools, and online. It covers verbal, physical, and online harassment, especially against women and vulnerable groups.
RA 7610 protects children from abuse, exploitation, and discrimination, including s*xual abuse and traff!cking. Both laws aim to keep minors and other at-risk individuals safe and hold offenders accountable.

Police said the school had a security guard, but since the suspect was a familiar face, he was able to enter and leave easily. The suspect said he went there to talk to his wife and fix their problem, but it ended in a heated argument.
