Road accidents happen very often in the Philippines and are recorded almost every day. Government data show that tens of thousands of crashes occur each year, involving cars, motorcycles, trucks, and pedestrians.

Many incidents happen in busy cities like Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao, but rural areas are also affected. Officials say common causes include driver error, speeding, drunk driving, poor vehicle condition, and bad roads, making road accidents one of the leading causes of injury and death in the country.
