Initial findings indicate that the attack happened at around 3:00 p.m. while the victim was standing in front of Rizal College of Taal.
Investigators said an argument broke out between the victim and the suspect, which quickly escalated into a physical confrontation.
During the altercation, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim several times before fleeing the scene.
Responding police officers were able to track down and arrest the 18-year-old suspect, who is a resident of Barangay Luntal. Authorities confirmed that although the stabbing occurred in front of Rizal College of Taal, both the victim and the suspect are students of Taal Senior High School.
Following the incident, Rizal College of Taal released a statement clarifying that neither the victim nor the suspect is enrolled at their institution. The school said the incident did not involve its students and occurred outside its premises.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine what led to the confrontation and whether additional factors may have contributed to the crime.
Authorities also reminded the public, especially students, to resolve disputes peacefully and to avoid carrying bladed weapons, particularly in areas near schools.
