According to a report by Bea Pinlac on "Unang Balita" on Friday, CCTV footage captured one of the suspects climbing a power pole outside a school during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Another man was seen staying below, allegedly serving as a lookout while the cables were being cut.
Barangay San Jose Kagawad Boyet De Guia explained that the suspects appeared familiar with the process of identifying which wires could be taken.

“Style nila, 'yung mga wire na makikita nilang hindi connected doon sa poste pa,” says De Guia. He added that one suspect would climb the pole while another remained on standby below as a lookout.
De Guia clarified that the stolen wire was not yet live at the time of the incident.
“Actually hindi pa nga po siya connected doon sa poste,” he says.
Several people reportedly witnessed the incident but did not immediately report it.
“For almost one hour, walang nag-report sa amin,” says De Guia, expressing disappointment over the lack of prompt action.
A female witness said she took photos of one suspect using her cellphone as potential evidence.
“Sabi ko, kung may magtangka, may ebidensiya ako,” she says.
The suspects later allegedly called a pedicab driver to help transport the stolen cables.
The driver eventually pointed authorities to the other suspects.
Barangay officials said the cables were sold to a junk shop in Malabon for P13,000, while the school estimated the replacement cost at P167,000.
The three suspects, along with the pedicab driver, now face theft charges. GMA Integrated News is still seeking their statements. Meanwhile, the barangay plans to post contact numbers on power posts to encourage residents to report crimes immediately.
In a previous local report by KAMI, a family of three was shot dead inside their own store in Barangay Mallorca, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. CCTV footage reportedly captured three men entering the shop, pulling down the roll-up door, and opening fire on the victims until all three were killed. One of the suspects was also seen taking a bag and a cellphone from the scene before fleeing. According to TV5 Frontline Pilipinas correspondent Gary De Leon, the family had allegedly been receiving threats after lending ₱1 million to a fellow barangay resident, who was said to have used the money for a business venture.
Meanwhile, another local incident that gained widespread attention involved a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City who was stabbed multiple times by her husband. In a report by EJ Gomez on Unang Balita, the 38-year-old suspect allegedly attacked his wife inside the school’s faculty room. Police said there was a security guard on duty at the campus, but the suspect was able to enter and leave without issue because he was known to people at the school. Authorities added that the suspect claimed he only went there to speak with his wife and try to resolve their problems, but the conversation allegedly turned into a heated argument that ended in violence.
