A Sunday afternoon turned into a scene of terror at the Dalahican Fish Port Complex in Barangay Dalahican, Lucena City, after a local vendor was repeatedly stabbed. The victim, a 39-year-old woman who makes a living selling tuyo (dried fish), was targeted by her own neighbor in broad daylight.

According to the Lucena City Police, the attack was caught on CCTV. The video shows the suspect approaching the woman and aggressively pointing his finger at her. After a brief and heated conversation, the suspect suddenly pulled out a weapon and began stabbing her. Despite several men in the area attempting to pull the suspect away, he continued the assault. Even as the woman fell to the floor and tried to kick him away to defend herself, the attacker did not stop until he was eventually dragged off by bystanders.

The victim was left with severe wounds on her shoulders, arms, neck, face, head, and the right side of her stomach. Photos and footage from the scene showed her face covered in blood as she managed to stand up after the struggle. She was immediately rushed to a hospital in Lucena City where, fortunately, doctors have declared her condition as stable while she continues to recover.

Police investigators have pinpointed a land dispute as the primary motive for the crime. Specifically, the two neighbors had been at odds over a "right of way" issue in their residential area in Purok Bangkusay 2. This disagreement, which should have been settled through legal or barangay mediation, unfortunately escalated into a life-threatening confrontation.
