The Philippine Embassy in Berne earlier said it was working closely with Swiss authorities to identify and assist Filipinos who may have been affected by the incident, which occurred during New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Kean’s mother, Kristal Talingdan, later confirmed that her son had been located and identified.

She added that Kean is currently confined at the University of Zurich Hospital, where doctors are closely monitoring his condition following the injuries he sustained in the fire.

Kean had traveled to Switzerland for a short holiday and was staying at the home of a friend’s family at the time.

He was with three other classmates, all of whom were injured after attending what was supposed to be a carefree New Year’s Eve gathering at the bar.

In a separate interview with Italian newspaper Il Giorno, Kean’s father, Yohan Guiot, recalled receiving a call from his son at around 4:00 a.m. on January 1. Guiot said Kean used a rescuer’s mobile phone to make the brief call.

According to his father, Kean was crying and visibly shaken but managed to say that he was alive, though he was in pain all over his body.

After the call ended, Guiot spoke with the rescuer, who explained that Kean had suffered extensive burns.

Kean was treated at the scene for nearly 45 minutes before being transported to the hospital.

In a separate report, an equally disturbing incident happened in Batangas. This time around, it concerns a little girl. In Tanauan, a horrific discovery was made when a 5-year-old girl was found dead and horribly wrapped inside a sack. The local community has been calling for a truly swift justice as investigators look into the suspects behind the little girl's tragic passing.

Meanwhile, law enforcement has also been busy tracking down other dangerous individuals involved in shooting incidents. A security guard who was the primary suspect in the shooting of two of his fellow guards was recently arrested after a period of being at large. Authorities were able to corner the suspect, who is now facing multiple charges for his actions.
