His motorcycle was also placed nearby. After that, people reportedly left the scene, assuming the situation was under control since the rider was no longer in danger.

Moments later, however, the footage revealed a man approaching the sleeping rider.

The suspect was seen taking the motorcycle key from the rider’s pocket. Shortly after, the motorcycle was driven away, leaving the owner unaware that his vehicle had already been stolen.

The rider only managed to report the incident the following day, when he woke up and realized that his motorcycle was missing.

Police immediately launched an investigation to track down the stolen vehicle.

Authorities later located the motorcycle and found that it had already been sold. Investigators discovered that the vehicle was exchanged for illegal drug*s worth around ₱7,000.

Police said the person who bought the motorcycle will face appropriate charges. He will also be required to explain his alleged involvement in the drug transaction used as payment for the stolen vehicle.

The case serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence and the risks that can follow even after an accident has already occurred.

In other news, a threatening package containing live .45-caliber bullets was found at a residence in Barangay 5-D, with each round inscribed with the names of three local government volunteers and accompanied by a death threat. Audit team members Ernie Empemano and Rene Amorao believe the harassment is linked to their current work examining high-profile infrastructure projects approved under the city’s previous administration. Despite the intimidation, the volunteers emphasized that their duties would continue, noting, “Transparency should only worry those who were involved in past irregularities.” Police Lieutenant Colonel Redentor Tiraña, together with the San Pablo City Police Force, has launched a formal investigation to identify the person or persons behind the threatening package.

Meanwhile, a major area of Davao City lost power on Christmas morning after a man climbed a utility pole and began walking across live electrical cables in Barangay Ilang. To ensure the individual’s safety, Davao Light and Power Co. temporarily shut down 69kV transmission lines, causing outages in neighborhoods from Tibungco to Panacan for several hours. Rescue teams from the Bureau of Fire Protection and local police successfully brought the man down, later learning that he was experiencing drug-induced hallucinations and thought he was fleeing an imaginary pursuer. Authorities confirmed that electricity was restored by early afternoon, and the man will face legal complaints for alarm and scandal caused by the disruption.
