Police confirmed that they are still trying to secure statements from both the suspect and the relatives of the victim to piece together a clearer account of what led to the shooting.

The case has drawn concern from the local community, as it underscores how unresolved family disputes can tragically escalate.

Authorities are urging cooperation from all involved parties to ensure a thorough investigation and proper legal proceedings.

Officials also highlighted that such incidents not only affect the immediate families but also disrupt the peace and security of the barangay community.

In separate incidents, authorities are probing a troubling act of intimidation after a package containing live .45-caliber bullets was discovered at a residence in Barangay 5-D. The bullets reportedly carried the names of three local government volunteers along with a written death threat. Audit team members Ernie Empemano and Rene Amorao believe the warning was connected to their ongoing audit of major infrastructure projects approved under the previous city administration. Despite the threat, the volunteers vowed to continue their work, emphasizing that transparency should only concern those with past irregularities. Police Lieutenant Colonel Redentor Tiraña confirmed that the San Pablo City Police have opened an investigation to identify the sender of the threatening package.
