A 22-year-old man lost his life after he was allegedly shot by his former cellmate in Talisay City, Cebu, according to a report aired on GMA Regional TV’s "Balitanghali" on Friday.

The fatal incident occurred in Barangay Lawaan III, where residents later discovered the victim lying motionless on a grassy area.

Responding authorities confirmed that the man had already died when they arrived at the scene. An initial examination showed that the victim sustained a gunshot wound to the neck.

Police investigators said the circumstances surrounding the killing point to a personal motive.

Based on initial findings, authorities believe the suspect is someone who previously shared time in jail with the victim.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that the shooting was connected to an alleged falling out related to illegal dr&gs.

Law enforcement officers conducted a thorough inspection of the crime scene and gathered information from nearby residents in an effort to reconstruct the events leading up to the shooting.

CCTV footage from surrounding areas is also being reviewed to help identify the suspect’s movements before and after the incident.

Authorities have already filed a murder complaint against the suspect, who remains at large as of this writing.

Police units in Talisay City and nearby areas have been alerted as part of the ongoing manhunt.

Officials are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to coordinate with local authorities.

They also reassured the public that intensified patrols are being conducted in the area to prevent further violence and to ensure community safety as the investigation continues.
