Authorities stressed that the process is essential in determining whether there was any involvement or negligence.
Concerns were raised over the driver’s decision to leave Cabral in a secluded location without her mobile phone and personal belongings.
Police officials noted that such actions raised red flags during the initial review of the case. One official said the circumstances appeared inconsistent with "human nature."
Acting PNP Chief Police Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. assured the public that investigators are conducting a thorough inquiry.
He said law enforcement agencies are carefully reviewing all angles, including witness accounts, physical evidence, and forensic findings.
Nartatez emphasized that authorities are not limiting the investigation to a single theory. He explained that police are also examining whether Cabral’s death resulted from outside pressure or if it was a decision she made independently.
The PNP reiterated its commitment to transparency and due process, stating that no conclusions will be drawn prematurely.
Officials said the findings will be made public once all facts have been carefully verified, as investigators continue working to uncover the truth behind Cabral’s death.
In an earlier report by KAMI, the Bureau of Customs (BOC) was said to be investigating around 40 luxury cars linked to the family of Sarah Discaya. The move came after an interview went viral in which Discaya showcased their collection of high-end vehicles. The BOC will examine who is listed as the consignee of the cars to determine whether any violations occurred in the importation process. Discaya has also been linked to contractors involved in flood control projects that are currently under investigation by the Senate. Recently, news also broke that former DPWH Undersecretary Catalina Cabral has died.
