However, in a salon in Malolos, Bulacan, this routine interaction allegedly served as the trigger for a distressing act of violence that has left a local worker shaken and seeking legal retribution.
Authorities are currently investigating an Egyptian national following a physical altercation involving a male hairstylist.
According to a report from GMA Regional TV’s Balitanghali, the incident, which occurred this Wednesday, was caught in vivid detail by the establishment’s CCTV cameras.
The footage reveals a disturbing sequence of events. While the stylist was focused on his work, carefully attending to a female client, the suspect—who is the client’s husband—approached the worker.
The interaction began with the foreigner putting his arm around the stylist in a deceptive show of closeness before flicking the worker’s face.
While the stylist attempted to remain professional and continue his task, the tension did not subside.
Moments later, after briefly returning to his seat, the suspect stood up again with renewed aggression.
This time, he didn't just flick the stylist; he grabbed the worker's head and delivered a hard slap to his right cheek. The suddenness of the assault left other customers and staff in the salon visibly stunned.
The motive behind the outburst is as perplexing as it is troubling. Police investigators found that the suspect allegedly grew angry because the hairstylist was communicating directly with the wife regarding the style and length of her haircut.
The husband apparently insisted that all communication regarding his wife's appearance should have been directed solely at him.
For the victim, the physical pain was eclipsed by the humiliation of being assaulted in his place of work.
Speaking with authorities, the stylist expressed his firm resolve to file a formal complaint against the foreign national.
"No one deserves to be treated like this, especially while they are just trying to earn a living," a witness remarked, echoing the sentiment of the local community.
As of this writing, authorities are attempting to get a formal statement from the Egyptian national involved.
Meanwhile, the victim is being supported by the local police as they prepare the necessary documents for a case of physical injuries and potentially grave coercion.

The situation was prevented from escalating further when a local barber courageously stepped in, disarming the assailant and pinning him down until authorities arrived. Investigators believe the violent confrontation was sparked by a long-standing personal conflict that had previously played out over several months through various social media platforms.
