Barangay responders arrived quickly at the scene, but Veneracion was declared dead on the spot.
His daughter, Anne Veneracion, recounted the terrifying moment the family heard the gunfire.
She said, "Nakarinig kami ng dalawang putok."
In another sentence, she explained that they found her father lying on the ground with blood on his head.
The family immediately sought help from authorities as neighbors gathered in shock.
Police have begun backtracking the movements of the suspects to determine their identities and uncover the motive behind the attack.
Senior Police Sergeant Jorge Magtalas, the investigator from the Jaen Police Station, said the suspects had been lingering in the area for some time before the crime.
He said, "Sa huli naming pagte-check ng mga CCTV, doon nga namin napatunayan na maaga pa lang umiikot-ikot na sila."
In a separate statement, he noted that the shooters waited for the right moment when a police officer assigned to school security had already left the area.
Veneracion has since been laid to rest. His relatives continue to appeal for justice, hoping the suspects will soon be identified and arrested.

Before fleeing, one of the suspects even took a bag and a cellphone from one of the victims.
