Police said the man sped off when officers approached, prompting a brief chase that ended with his arrest.

According to PLt. Col. Rolando Baula, commander of the Masambong Police Station, the suspect was stopped because he lacked proper safety gear.

He said, "Finlagdown ng tropa natin 'yung suspek dahil wala siyang suot na helmet habang nagdadrive siya ng motorsiklo."

The commander explained that the man resisted the inspection, which led to the pursuit.

Authorities recovered an improvised firearm loaded with ammunition from the suspect during the arrest.

Investigators also discovered that the motorcycle he was driving had been stolen.

CCTV footage dated November 21 in Barangay Del Monte showed the suspect walking up to a parked motorcycle before taking off with it. PLt. Col. Baula said the owner had accidentally left the key in the ignition.

He explained, "Pagbalik niya wala na yung motor niya."

In another sentence, he noted that the victim positively identified the vehicle as his after presenting identification documents that matched the motorcycle’s ORCR.

The suspect admitted that the motorcycle was stolen but refused to comment on the seized firearm.

He said, "Naiwan po yung susi nung may-ari dinala ko lang po." He added in another sentence that he only used it for transportation.
