The family of Marfe Hufancia confirmed that the body found along the shoreline of Barangay Castillo in Cabusao, Camarines Sur matched his personal belongings. They identified him through a ring, a set of dentures, and work uniform recovered from the scene. According to initial reports, the ring was an engagement ring similar to the one worn by Clodette Jean Divinagracia, one of the victims in the Naga City case.

The discovery happened as police in Naga City continue to build the case surrounding the killing of siblings Clodette Jean and Clyde Divinagracia. PCOL. Gilbert Fariñas told the media that they already have physical evidence supported by statements and circumstantial information gathered during the investigation. He explained that they expect these to be further strengthened once the SOCO report and phone data analysis become available.

Naga City Police also said that their intelligence units monitored possible places that Hufancia could have gone outside the Bicol Region. This helped them narrow down leads before the body was eventually found. Authorities added that they want to assure the public that the case will not end up like the Bandojo incident, which was dismissed years ago due to lack of evidence.
